[2.5.1.1] Missing names for provinces

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Verify your install. In steam right click on Crusader Kings II on your library page, chose properties, local files and verify integrity of game cache. If this would be a bug everyone would be seeing it.
If the verifying doesn't work you need to full clean install following these steps. Uninstall the game, manually delete the game folder, manually delete Crusader Kings II folder in My Documents -> Paradox Interactive and reinstall the game. If you want to keep your save games then copy them out of the Crusader Kings II folder in My Documents folder before deleting it.
This might be a long shot but as I notice you using polish crest as your avatar. Are you using the polish language in the game. If you are just change it to english as the polish language version for the game was made by third party and so Paradox is not taking resposibility of updating it. I don't think the polish language version has been updated for years.

I wouldn't post a thread if I didn't verify integrity first.
Funny thing is that you are right. I was using English in game, but after your post I checked what language is set for game in Steam and it was set to Polish. I changed it to English and Steam reinstalled language files. I started the game and provinces have their names back. Probably the problem was because there were no updates for these files for Polish version of the game.
Anyway - thanks for your help. The problem seems to be solved.
You would be suprised how many people post a thread about something before even trying to fix it by themselves. It happens so many times and not to mention not all people know about the verify integrity thing at all. Its always beneficial to post all possible fixes to the problem as the helper has no way of knowing what the other person has done before that if its not mentioned. There has also been so many cases where people claim to have been done certain thing but in the end that was the one thing that helped them when they did it again following the instructions. I am happy that its fixed now and hopefully enjoy your playing session.
