Playing as the Byzantium Emperor from 769 going for SPQR Achievement on Ironman.

Old Emperor dies, new one is 14, not to bad. Two big factions form, one for independence, one for lowered crown authority. (I'm at medium). I am two lands over my limit, so that -20 is hurting me (planning to last it out until I hit 16 as a wedding should help it out).

Regent joins the lowered crown authority, so when it triggers, I'm forced to accept. (BTW, my strong genius mother got replaced immediately as my regent, fun).

Then the independence faction triggers, which I'm allowed to fight.

But the lower crown authority faction doesn't disband. I win the independence civil war well despite being a craven child. Then right before I'm 16, the lower crown authority faction triggers again, and I'm forced to accept by my regent. Boo autonomous vessels.

Bloody what? I just had the AI lower my crown authority by 2 levels, and I'm not allowed to touch it again until I'm dead.
