2.41 crusade for france issues

In my game france went heretic I forget which one but it doesn't matter, naturally crusades were called 3 of them all ending in victory for the crusader but nothing happened at the end of the war. I think it was because karloman, charlemagnes brother has a claim so he was getting the kingdom but being dead 300 years nothing changed. Im sure it was him as at the end of the war the popup has karlomans portrait was on the right

It was an ironman game so no. It didn't actually affect me as a muslim nomad.
