Hello -- I'm reposting this from the 'Bug Report' subforum, as a veteran user suggested this was the better place for it. What it is, is that I have a problem with all the 'Portrait' DLC packs.
They appear fine in the loading screen, and I can click to activate and deactivate them with no problems. However, none of the graphics actually appear in the game itself! Instead, the default faces from the vanilla game appear. As far as I can tell, this affects all of the DLC portrait packs.
To see what would happen, I loaded up the (new!) Elder Kings mod, which is dependent on some of the portrait DLCs. The result: invisible rulers across half the map!
While it was briefly entertaining to negotiate a marriage with a jeweled turban floating eerily over a collar, and interesting to see more of the background art than you usually can, I'd really rather get my portraits back.
All my other DLC -- which is just about all of them -- is working fine; this includes the various clothing packs. I have tried every combination of moving files, restarting, deleting & recreating dlc_signature files, etc.; none of that has any effect so far.
I haven't played much for a while, so I'm not absolutely certain when this glitch happened -- but I'm pretty sure it happened after the last update to 2.4.5.
Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? (Many thanks in advance.)
