2.4.5 crashing on startup

So I have rollbacked to 2.4.5 with the steam beta thing, downloaded the appropriate post WoL version of HIP, disabled all other mods, cross referenced with the web what DLC should be disabled and the game just crashes the moment I hit the play button in the launcher. Does anyone have a clue as to what is happening?

I think you want the post-Horse Lords HIP. Perhaps that is why your game is CTD.

Off the top of my head, CK2 2.4.5 was the update when Horse Lords released. So I'd be pretty shocked if it didn't work after downloading the post-HL version of HIP.
