[2.4.3 WIUP] Republican Heir Issues and Crashing

Preface: I have all the major expansions (except for Horse Lords) and many other dlc for the game. I have gotten all of the following errors with and without Ironman-compatible mods.

1. Republic Related Issues
• Occasionally, when my designated heir dies, his portrait and election points will remain on election tab until I save, resign, and reload the game.
• If I personally own any non-city holdings, I cannot successfully designate an heir for my dynasty until I give said holdings to other characters.

2. Crashing Issues
• In a different save file, I started as King of Navarra on the 867 bookmark. I am now in the year 949 and the game keeps freezing and crashing during play time. The higher the speed is set, the sooner it crashes. However, it still crashes even if I go to speed 2. When it freezes, I can still move the cursor and all my other programs are responsive. When frozen, Open Hardware Monitor eerily shows that the game is throttling the third core of my CPU, while none of the other cores are being utilized over 10%. I have never experienced this type of crashing before during long save file play-throughs. I have the game saving locally, if that matters. My first thoughts are that this might be a bug from the Horse Lords-related updates, the Charlemagne expansion, or CK2's disapproval of my upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

Computer Specs:
OS - Windows 10
CPU - Intel i5 4690K
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Memory - 16 GB

I am having the exact same crashing issue, with freezing. Have to ctrl+alt+delete. I forget the date, i will load to see if it is 949. I know the exact date of the crash is march 9th

Update: my game has made it to the year 874 from the 769 start date

My game crashes usual on the 24th of any given month after starting up the save. I'm hoping the save isn't a dud now. I was kicking major *** with Navarra; the Basque were on their way to ruling the entire Iberian peninsula. What's odd is that I've played a few games from 867 far past 949 before Rajas.

I just disabled save compression and things seem to be working smoothly. I'll post if anything starts getting screwy again.

I am having a similar, if not the same, crashing/freezing issue. It seemed to improve slightly when I reduced the game speed down to minimum (1), as in, didn't get a freeze in a year, but needs further testing. After going to speed 2, it does not take long to have the crash, though I failed to establish a pattern behind when exactly it happens. I started having these issues after windows updated itself on the 13th August, there have been no changes to the game files after the 2.4.3 patch, I had played that same game for 50 years (at least) without a crash after the patch.

Edit1: savegame compression has been disabled throughout
Edit2: simultaneous video driver update is ruled out since I tried with both the newest nvidia driver and the one before (which had no issues prior to today)

Reproduction steps:
-Load up the game. Character is Empress of the restored Roman Empire (there is a war with the Muslim Empire of Hispania)
-Go to speed 2
-Wait for it to freeze


Edit: active DLCs are all major DLCs except sunset invasion and horse lords

I also disabled citysprawl around the same time that I disabled save compression. However, I still think it is a problem with the game overloading the third core of my CPU, as it still revs when the game saves and advances months (but does not crash). I will try to see if it is the extra power needed for city sprawl, save compression, or if both were causing the crashing.
