[2.4.3] Crawlingly slow UI slide-in animations

The opening animation where the main menu slides in is extremely slow (it takes a couple of minutes!), so is any animation where boxes slide in from the sides. I haven't played CK2 since October last year, but it worked perfectly smooth back then.

The animations are slow, but not stuttering, it just seems to render them at a perfect 60fps just 1000 times too slow.

From the looks of it, it also draws an lot of CPU power to do this.

Platform: Linux, Nvidia proprietary drivers.

I think they'd need more information about your system than that. Stuff like what processor you're using, how much memory installed, what distribution and kernel, possibly more. Not sure if there's an equivalent to dxdiag for Linux, but something with equivalent information.

I tried it on two different machines: My home desktop: 6xCore i7EE 4GHz with GeForce 970 (4gb) and 16Gbyte of memory using Debian Testing x64. And my laptop: 2xcore i7 2.8GHz with Quadro 2000 (2Gb) with 8Gbyte of memory using Debian Stable x64.

I doubt the machines has anything to do with it.
