Starting as the count of Boulogne in the CM start, I managed to become Duke of Flanders while one of my kinsmen ascended to the Emperor of Francia after Charlemagne died. This kinsman held all Kingdoms within Francia except Middle Francia. He sired 3 children.
All his Kingdoms were Agnatic Gavelkind except West Francia (now called France) which is Elective monarchy. And now it gets interesting:
After his death I was elected King of France. I inherited all De jure counties the Emperor owned within France but at the same time lost all my counties I had beforehand (the whole duchy of Flanders) to the first son of the Emperor (who obviously is now Emperor himself). I didn't even get a claim for it.
Savegame roughly half a year before the incident. The Emperor is about to die (depression, sick, consumption) so it should be no problem for you to replicate the issue. Now to the question: Is this wanted by the devs since Flanders is not de jure part of France? Or is this just a simple bug?
I am using all major DLCs except Horse Lords and Sunset Invasion. Using all Dynasty shields but only some Portaits (Mediterranean, African, Russian), same for Unit packs.
No mods were used.
It's hard to show this in screens. The best it's show in this one. It just simply says "inherited".
