[2.4.1] Successful Shia pretender Caliph doesn't become actual Caliph

I'm not sure if it's really a bug or some changed mechanic, but in my first (otherwise surprisingly smooth) HL game the Shia uprising event fired on Egypt a few years after 867. The kid won and became Sultan of Egypt, but not Caliph and the Shia stayed without a religious head. By now the Sultan is an adult and has even conquered the holy cities, but still he isn't Caliph.
