I have this problem, since I had bought The Horse Lords DLC. Only in Charlemagne and The Old Gods, characters from Greek, Georgian and Armenian cultures has own portraits. In later scenarios, they doesn't have it. The same problem is with Italians; however they has "classical" portraits even in earlier scenarios. I have all DLC and I use ony Novus Graphicus mod (changes map textures). Problem is not with single characters, but with all cultures (i checked it both in character editor and gameplay)
