The Italian are using the default Western Faces. Weren't they supposed to use the "Iberian Faces"?

Also, if you try using the greeks in the 1066 startdate, they have western faces, as well.

Well, since i forgot to type patch number on my tittle head, its most likely to be deleted. So..
First of all, WHY Kirghiz, Uygur (aka altaic group) have arabic faces as backup without new facepack? (I have everything released before HL and just bought only horse lords) For those who didnt buy cuman facepack yet, cant we at least use turkish faces for these cultures? Its more accurate than arabic ones.

The Iberian portraits issue with not showing for Italians is not intentional. We are looking into it, but it seems like that the new Italian Unit Pack might be the cause of it.

I think the Greek portrait might be intentional. Unsure about the Altaic situation. I'll have to look into it for both though.
It's normal to stop using Early clothes, not stop having their normal faces.

I haven't purchased any of the new DLC and Italians are now basically Lombards for me too. Everybody being a pale skinned Euro in 1066 is disgraceful. This better be an oversight.

Greeks and Georgians having western faces post 1066 must be an oversight, we can't go back to those ugly western face.

In the 1337 bookmark Epirus is ruled by a greek boy. He uses the Med portrait for a boy but the adult greeks don't use Med portraits for some reason... so definite bug!
Greek portraits should be covered by the Mediterranean pack after 950. They should have Greek (not western) faces and the new Mediterranean clothes. Before 950, they should have Greek (not western) faces and Early Eastern clothes. This is provided both DLCs are present.
The Altaic situation is a consequence of only having a single fallback graphical user type in cultures.txt, which is Muslim, for Turks and Cumans. The primary graphical culture for Cumans before the new DLC was Turkishgfx and now it isn't, which is why people who own the Turkish but not the Cuman pack have lost their faces for Cumans.
The fix would be to contain a cumangfx (or whatever) in the Turkish DLC which uses Turkish portraits. This would hopefully (if DLCs play nice) be overwritten by the Cumangfx in the new portrait pack which uses the new Cuman portraits.
Oh and lastly the Italian stuff should be a simple matter of creating a duplicate set of portraits.gfx entries for whatever the new italian graphical culture is which points at the same portrait pieces as southerngfx.
This is all guesswork since I've not had a chance to get to my computer at all yet but all these bugs and their fixes should be predictable based on what I know about portrait modding.

Yeah, this is ridiculous if it's intentional.
Can we hope for a hotfix of this issue sometime this week? It's not big enough to wait for 2.4.2 but it's annoying to anyone who plays as Greeks and BYZ is even more popular in CK2 than in EU4 imho.

So you mean to tell me, that there is no use to the Mediterranean pack, now? Then, by all means, I'd love to have two dollars back.

It's definitely a bug -- the Mediterranean facepack dlc014.zip -- still contains the updated Byzantine stuff. It's just not working, and I'm trying to figure out why.
edit: Ok, fixed the Cuman issue and the Italian issue in just about two seconds by using secondary graphical cultures. The harder issue though is the Byzantine bug. I can't seem to get the Byzantine portraits to work no matter what I do. I thought it might just be a missing .gfx file, except the Byzantine .gfx files are in the main game directory instead of dlc014.zip ... which is the same as before. But for some reason the game just doesn't want to use them. Can't fathom what went wrong.

None of these issues can be intentional, unless you like to go on and change content of graphic DLCs as you wish.
If anything of this is intentional then i'm not going to buy anything of CK2 anymore. Period.

But...Italians ARE pale-skinned Europeans...oh, that's right in the unmodded game Italians look African. I forgot some people still played with the horrific unmodded Iberian Portraits pack.
well. for what it's worth, i'd also like to report that if i return to main menu after i try to strat a game (go into cbharacter selection, do the usual stuff, but not clicking play), the multiplayer button is greyed out and says that the game state is corrupted. it happens every time, even without mod.
