When you select the blackmail for profit option and the victim agrees, you don't actually get any money.

Just bumping this as it appears to still be true. Nothing has ever happened when I've clicked "I smell profit"
It did work for me once, using 2.4.4, but the two times i've tried it after that, it wouldn't work.
I should have checked if the latest two guys actually had any money, maybe they didn't and that's what caused the problem.

I confirm. Happened a few times to me. First time I thought an event was missing but gold was added but in fact it seems you don't get money at all.
