[2.3] [Mac] Crashing on Load

Pretty much as described in the title; updated from the beta patch to 2.3 and now the game refuses to load. I'm not running any modifications, I've verified the integrity of the game cache without any issues and I've tried running it without DLC as well. I'll give it a shot by reinstalling the game, but at the moment it just doesn't seem to want to load at all.

Oh, and it crashes on 'Processing Flags...' on the load screen. I'm not sure if that's useful to anyone.

EDIT: Tried reinstalling, still falling. Deleted all of the files on my hard drive and reinstalled again, failed again. What the hell?

I'm going to assume this is an issue with my Mac then, seeing as the patch is running fine when I boot up my PC. That's largely disappointing.

Checked this out on a mates PC and Macbook as well; there's definitely something wrong with the Macbook version of the game at the moment. At least for us.

Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

File Locations on Mac OS X
The executable is in /Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/crusader kings ii/ck2.app

On OS X 10.8.x Apple have hidden the /Users/USER/Library/ folder. To see it go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .

The user files (settings.txt, error logs, saved games, gfx) are in /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive/ .

Given that a try. As far as the Mac is concerned the /Users/USER/Documents/Paradox Interactive is in existence (managed to pull my save files and the like from here), however there's no /Application Support/Steam/ folder present on the hard disk. I've tried re-installing CKII a few times and searching again but it doesn't produce any results. :/

I'm currently on OS X 10.9.5 if that's any help.

It's there, I assure you, or there'd be no game. You did the "command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/" thing?

Yeah; I checked /Application Support/ and there isn't even a folder for Steam, and searching /Steam/ with cmd-shift-G doesn't produce any results either. It's a little bit disconcerting as I have a few other games installed with no known directory now. >_>

What should also work (before you uninstall that is) is in Steam right-click on CK2, properties, local files, browse local files.

That worked; managed to fix the issue by clearing the folder and reinstalling that way. Still, the folder for Steam doesn't show up via search or in /Application Support/, which is mildly concerning.
