As the title says I crash right after the window opens to start loading the game. I don't even get to see the CKII loading screen yet. I tried reinstalling already so that's not the issue.

Don't bump threads, especially after only a few hours.

This is highly unlikely to be a game bug - we'd know by now if no-one could ever even start the game!

Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

That's not the same issue at all - the OP can't even start the game up. And, apparently, doesn't want any more help for that ...

I'm not sure what else can be done. If I revert back to 2.2.1 the game works perfectly. I'm not sure if something was added to the patch that would require me to upgrade or download something that I didn't have before.

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.

It should be in setup.log, not system.log . But the one on the Launcher will do, plus the one in the main game menu when loaded with no mods active.

I see you're using the shattered world mod - does this happen if you don't have that active?

Edit settings.txt to say:

multi_sampling=0

Any better?

I encountered this behavior after installing 2.3 (which I did not elect to do as it was enforced by Steam) and it was due to the keyboard shortcuts mod I was using. Updating the mod to a 2.3-compliant version solved the issue for me.

Ok I tried this in the settings txt in my documents paradox folder but no luck. I'm not running a mod when I'm trying to launch it just the vanilla game.

EDIT: I found out the problem. For some reason when I have EUIV converter ticked in the DLC it causes this issue and that's the problem for me. It was working fine before this patch though so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work now.
