[2.3] Bugged HRE feudal elective on load

I have been playing an ironman game. After loading a game as the formed HRE (it's been saved & loaded several times now without issue), now the game loads it with one of the younger unlanded sons as the heir under feudal elective, despite me changing my chosen successor, the oldest son that is a landed duke. No matter what I do, I can't get the oldest son to be the dynasty's heir. Funny thing is, the other dukes actually vote for him.

At a glance, I don't see an issue in the screenshot. Since you have elective as your succession law, it seems that your vassals seems to be voting on your son, Eustache, which will make him your primary heir since he has the most votes. Usually, vassals are more likely to vote for the same successor as you if they really like you. But there are exceptions.

The Holy Roman Emperor sat upon his throne in Paris, discussing the succession. "What do you mean, chancellor, that my eldest son Roger is not the Imperial heir?"

The chancellor cleared his throat nervously. "Your Majesty, it is my duty to inform you that the majority of dukes prefer your younger son, Eustache."

The Emperor scratched his head. "But why? Eustache is unlanded. Roger is eldest, landed, and my preferred! Do the dukes have any basis for their objection to Roger?"

The blood drained out of the chancellor's face. He spoke in a squeak. "Your Majesty... while I do not hold these opinions myself, I read reports that it is commonly known that your son, Price Roger, is a murderer. And an adulterer. The dukes say they feel this is... unbecoming."

"Oh," said the Emperor. "I see. Um, well," he continued, "please inform the dukes I nominate Prince Eustache as my heir. And let's start fabricating claims on Roger's holdings then, shall we?"

"As you say, Your Majesty."

So yeah, I figured it out! Sorry for the original post, then. It appears the voting lords pay more attention to the traits of the people they're voting for. Good!
