When close relatives become lovers, for some reason the game seems to change them to just non-close-relative same-dynasty members, so maybe that disqualifies them from elective as well. It also changes their blood drop to the darker color. And you can marry them freely and without any penalty. I don't know if that's all by design for some reason, but it doesn't seem right.

Hmm.. wierd, I could not reproduce this. I seduced my sister while having Elective Gavelkind as succession and I can still nominate her as my successor.

Hmm.. wierd, I could not reproduce this. I seduced my sister while having Elective Gavelkind as succession and I can still nominate her as my successor.

I believe part of the problem may be that WoL is coded to consider seduced siblings as distant relatives to allow you to marry them - that's why the blood drop changes color. Unfortunately this might sometimes remove them from succession (particularly if they're landed or in another court) and results in no one in, say, France complaining that King Lannister just married his twin sister, since the game assumes she's actually a distant cousin or something.
