2.3 boycott

Hey everyone,

Who wants to join me on the Stellaris 2.3 boycott? We don't patch up nor buy any DLC until it hits 2.3.4 or later and the stream of bug reports stops to a reasonable level.

Actually we should make it a standard practice until Paradox can demonstrate they began respecting their clients.

I know - it is going to be hard to resist but hey, we do it for the good of both ourselves and Paradox themselves.

I doubt that I will buy any actual dlc unless the game runs better than it does at the moment, but this isnt the same as "boycotting" it.

Also, why would I want to "boycott" free updates or patches?

I haven't been boycotting I've just been a Paradox customer long enough to learn not to buy the new stuff immediately. When everything is fixed they'll have my money.

Probably won't be any major DLC with 2.3 and not patching seems like it would just be shooting yourself in the foot, basically saying 2.2 is good so we don't need 2.3.
Large numbers of people rolling back to 2.1.4 now would be a stronger statement, especially if they've already bought the DLC.
I haven't really tried 2.2 yet but I can say there are a number of changes that don't sound good (leaving aside bugs) but I can probably mod around them.

I'm still not clear on how you boycott something with your wallet when the thing is free.

2.2 may have been free but it's a requirement to play the Megacorp DLC people paid good money for. Selling someone DLC for a broken game is fundamentally no different than selling someone broken DLC.
