I just had a game with a friend of mine in multiplayer. I was hosting the game. My friend was playing as the duke of Upper Lorraine, and I was playing as the duke of Lower Lorraine in the year 1066. He decided to plot against one of the counties (county of Bar) within his Duchy in order to revoke the countess's title over that county. The plot quickly resulted in a war, and the countess called all of her allies to battle. The situation started to look grim for my friend who did not have enough men to fight off her alliance. He and I decided then to form an alliance of our own through marriage, and I managed to offer to join the war. However, whenever our armies would occupy the same space of some county, they would immidiately fight each other as if we were not allied. This was of course not the case, I could clearly see that all of his armies were coloured blue, and not red.

I have yet to figure out an explanation for what happened. I should mention that not all of my army consisted of levies from my duchy. Some of the soldiers were mercenaries, although that has never been a problem before when I have played in singleplayer.

I have not been successful at finding people that have had the same issue as me on these forums. However, I have seen people talking about the same problem elsewhere (e.g. on forums on Steam). I am wondering if something similar has happened to other people here on these forums. If yes, how did you solve the problem if it is solvable?

We've previously identified and fixed a few 'hostile towards allies'-bugs. If you've got a savegame where you're hostile towards each other I can test it out to see if your issue is covered by our fixes.

Thanks for the report!

Hi. Thank you for the reply.

Because of the weird incident, I and my friend did not decide to save that game manually. We had not played that specific multiplayer campaign for long at all before the incident, so the only save files I have are autosaves. The earliest autosave that I have does seem to contain that specific situation that I described in my earlier post. I have not opened it in-game to check if my army and my friend's army are still hostile to one another, but I can tell from the load game screen that we are both in war with the said county from my earlier post. This would mean that we should be allied to one another in that autosave. In other words, it should be right about the incident where our armies showed hostility to one another whenever they were occupying the same space within a county.

Furthermore, the reason I have not opened the specific autosave to check if our armies still display hostility to one another is because I do not want to open it without my friend being in the game with me. I do not know if doing so might alter the save file in a way so as to fix the issue. In some sense, that would be a good thing, but it would also mean that one would not be able to locate the cause of the said issue. However, I can get my friend to join that autosave game and check if we are still hostile to one another. Before doing that, though, I can upload a copy of the autosave for your fixes. Where should I upload the save file? (I tried to upload the file to this thread, but I got an error message saying that the file did not have an allowed file extension.)

Thank you for taking your time.
