I just had a game with a friend of mine in multiplayer. I was hosting the game. My friend was playing as the duke of Upper Lorraine, and I was playing as the duke of Lower Lorraine in the year 1066. He decided to plot against one of the counties (county of Bar) within his Duchy in order to revoke the countess's title over that county. The plot quickly resulted in a war, and the countess called all of her allies to battle. The situation started to look grim for my friend who did not have enough men to fight off her alliance. He and I decided then to form an alliance of our own through marriage, and I managed to offer to join the war. However, whenever our armies would occupy the same space of some county, they would immidiately fight each other as if we were not allied. This was of course not the case, I could clearly see that all of his armies were coloured blue, and not red.
I have yet to figure out an explanation for what happened. I should mention that not all of my army consisted of levies from my duchy. Some of the soldiers were mercenaries, although that has never been a problem before when I have played in singleplayer.
I have not been successful at finding people that have had the same issue as me on these forums. However, I have seen people talking about the same problem elsewhere (e.g. on forums on Steam). I am wondering if something similar has happened to other people here on these forums. If yes, how did you solve the problem if it is solvable?
