I've seen this happen in multiple games, both the base game and in the Historical Immersion Project mod. The army leaders will seemingly shift flank randomly, making it difficult to keep the people you want where you want them, even when the unit that they are assigned to hasn't changed position. This can mess with using Organizers, among other things. Thus, not having they will seem to be leading flanks where they are not. Occasionally they will seem to double, leading two flanks at once. Additionally, when selecting the right flank leader, the selection window lists as the current leader the leader of the left flank, rather than the current right hand leader. Lastly sieges will often have the wrong leader listed, even to the point of sometimes the stated leader is in a different province; it seems to get stuck on the highest ranked center flank leader in any army. This is not a cosmetic issue - the siege leader trait of the shown leader remains active as long as he is the stated leader, and an absent leader can cover over the appropriate leader (who for instance has the siege leader trait). Some pictures and a link to a dropboxed save follow below. All are from a just-started 2.3.4 base game (checksum RYEM) as Duke William.

This is the invasion army at the start:

Notice that Duke William is on the left flank and that there are no leaders in the center units. Hence that flank should be empty. I moved every unit with a person off of the center; William started on one of the flanks, however. Next I started the invasion, besieging Middlesex, with Duke William at the center, getting the below.

After takng that shot, I split the army in half and took Duke William's half to Surrey. The picture below is the result. The siege picture on the left is from Middlesex, while the cursor is over Duke William's army in Surrey, so he is in Surrey.

Lastly, I console captured Harold Godwinson to end the war (since France has autonomous vassals, I couldn't set leaders, so I wanted to get somewhere with higher crown authority). After becoming King of England, I removed all of the leaders and then added William back in. First I put him on a unit in the center, making him the center flank commander. I then moved his unit to the left; he remained the center flank leader. Next I clicked the make person flank leader arrow and got this:

I have all of the DLC except the converter and Sunset Invasion. I've had these things happen both in the current version and in previous versions, as well as with the HIP mod. Searching "leader" in this forum brings up a number of seemingly similar posts - some dating back quite. Here's a link to the dorbox file from the save - it was from the start, I think, before I did the above described things. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uggi80lyeetg59u/Bugtest.ck2?dl=0

Thanks for taking a look at this!

We are currently doing some changes and updates to how leaders are handled planned for the 2.4 update. Which should solve these issues along with it.

Thanks for reporting!
