[2.3.4] Muslim republic succession not working right (save attached)

The game insists on making my firstborn son my heir even though I'm a republic, and my relative is leading the election.

Oddly, if I die at that saved moment, I will continue playing as my son after usurping a random title from one of my dukes and I will convert to feudal.

I've been encountering some issues regarding republic succession as well. I'll make sure this is entered into our internal database. Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Upon further investigation, it appears as if releasing your republican heir from prison solves the issue. I'll note that in the report.
