[2.3.4] Holy War vassalized ally of target

I posted a thread for this last week, in the hopes that someone might be able to work out why what happened happened, so I could post a better bug report, but no dice, so I'm posting what I have.

I was fighting a Holy War against a heretic count, who called his father into the war. (I think they split due to that event where the son can take one of the liege's titles.) When the war ended in my victory, I somehow not only gained the land of the count I was warring on, but his father became my vassal as well. I would post this in the bug report forum, but I can't figure out how to reproduce it.

Both the son (the target) and his father (the ally) were heretics, and both were alive at the end of the war. I accepted a peace deal that the AI sent me, I didn't enforce demands myself, if that makes a difference.

This seems like an odd occurrence indeed. I attempted to reproduce the issue a few times, but without any luck.

Is there anything else you did? Did you create any titles before/during/after the war? Were they the same realm before you started the war? Did someone die/inherit elsewhere in their family?

I don't believe I created any titles during the war, or for some time before, and the "after" save is the day the war ended, IIRC. I don't think anyone died in their family between the provided autosave and the end of the war.

Before the war started, I had a truce with the father, the one who somehow ended up as my vassal. I had declared a HW on him when he held both counties, and lost, because he had around 4K gold, and hired all the mercs. Then he granted Lancaster to his son, for reasons I'm not sure of (I suspect the event where the son requests and then can take a title, as the father doesn't have the diplo stat to diplomatically refuse), and I declared a HW on the son, since the AI doesn't usually hire mercs for wars that they are just an ally in.

The father holds a barony in Lancaster, so maybe something screwy happened involving that, combined with both counties being in the target duchy?

Hm, I noticed the barony too. I tried to recreate the scenario in a few different ways, occupying various degrees of holdings from both of them. Unfortunately nothing worked. Well, if you by any chance stumble upon some more information, please tell me!
