I don't think this should occur:

- Playing as emperor of abyssinia
- Dad had 3 sons: Firstborn (died 30 years before dad), Me & Bro
- I inherited the empire, a kingdom, a duchy and 3 counties
- Bro inherited a kingdom, a duchy, and 3 counties
- My nephew, who was dad's long dead firstborn's son, inherited 2 kingdoms, a duchy, and 8 counties. His father ever only had a couple baronnies

I presume you are elective gavelkind? (Your screenshots are unfortunately broken)

You may not think this 'should' occur, but its nonetheless working as designed. Your father's (sons) grandchildren are still his heirs - they don't become disinherited because their parent dies.

There is however nothing stopping them from having 'accidents'.

Not elective gavelkind. Agnatic-cognatic gavelkind...

My nephew already inherited, and so did his 2 brothers, when his father died. His dad, my older brother who died 30 years before dad did, had 4 baronnies. 2 went to said nephew, and one each to his 2 other brothers.

Same principle applies. Only assumed it was elective (vs normal) gavelkind because your demense was so high.

By the by, (and I was remiss in not saying this earlier), you should provide a savegame for claimed succession problems (see the sticky on How to write a bug report) - you will need to upload to a third party before providing a link.

Darnit, too late. :(

However, I am *SURE* Agnatic-cognatic gavelkind does not mean the grandchildren of the firstborn son inherit on the same basis as the sons when said firstborn son is dead.
