My character is a lazy, greedy, brutally honest psychopath and my wife is understandably repulsed by me. I tried to remedy this by giving her honorary titles but they are having no effect. It's not the first time this has happened with 2.3.3 but it does seem to be specific to wives. Using no mods on ironman mode.

Apologies if I have misunderstood something, I'm returning to CK2 after a long hiatus and much has changed!

EDIT: All DLC

They made it so that spouses have 'personal opinion bonuses only.' This had the side effect that you described above. I think it's in their database, though whether they think it's WAD or not is unclear.

Thanks for clearing that up. Very odd. What's even more odd is that they can't be seduced. Your sister can be, but not your own wife. That makes little sense to me.

It's almost as if your spouse is exempt from all of the flavour in the game, despite being the character you should be closest to.

Yeah, that's a big problem. There seems to be this weird design push from PI to make marriages unhappy and boring. I think part of it was motivated in making marriage 'not so easy' but it seems like it's gone waaay beyond that.

Yeah, I sort of agree with the sentiment but not the way it's done. I like when things are difficult and go wrong, it's what makes CK2 fun for me. I'd rather this was done by having more negative events rather than just taking out all positive actions though. Difficult and eventful rather than difficult and dull.

Not to be spammy, but I look back with fondness on my probably second ever game of CK2, when I used my chancellor to fix my marriage. It was a King of Greece, Armenia and Bulgaria married to a Byzantine Empress who desired all three kingdoms (-25 opinion each); thankfully, Cyprus isn't de iure, so she didn't desire that one. In turn, he wasn't recognizing her as true empress, and he had an entire Byzzie claimant dynasty stacked in his court for obvious purpose. They did not actually go to war. (Kudoz to the chancellor). However, I do remember a 'Dear husband, this is a formal declaration of WAR,' (love the capitals, BTW) from a different game.

I think in narrow instances like this, application of State Diplomacy to landed spouses kinda makes sense. In addition to the hilarious angle of talking to your wife through your chancellor, who is the grand patcher-up.

Perhaps it might be a good suggestion in some cases to resolve the differences in one big quarrel (with tables flying, swords being drawn at the poor man etc.) and remove something like 'desires your titles' adding up to –100 from being a problem between spouses.
