Title says it all ! Seems that old bug is sticking with CK2 ;)

You need to resign position to be able to educate child. this is an old bug (since last summer at least, like the mariage/betrothal on council bug)

Similar to the "cant marry/betrothal bug while on council" (or target of mariage/betrothal on council).
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...t-marriage-bethrothal-when-on-Liege-s-council.

I agree that it should be changed, but there is a workaround. Try selecting, from your liege's court, your ruler - and then select the child you want as a ward. When you are on your liege's council, the game considers your ruler to be not in his/her own court, but the liege's.

I'm sorry but i cant find this issue. I'm the Chancellor of Svidjod, I can educate both my own son and my liege son (if he would have accepted).
I also switched to the liege and i could pick of my council members to educate my son.

Do you happen to use any mods?

If not it would be very helpful if you could attach a save game, tell me which dlc:s you are using and if you are using a windows, mac or linux :)

While a councilor, you're a member of your liege's court. You need to ask your liege to educate child then select yourself as the guardian because you'll appear in the list of his courtiers.
