2.3.2 music stuttering

Hi
The music started stuttering as soon as I unpause, no matter how slow the pace.
Checked forum and could only find some with this problem back in 2.1 (I think it was).
Updated sound card drivers, didnt notice this in 2.3.
Got a fairly fast comp.

I have the same problem, music stutters frequently while in-game time is moving (never when paused).

However, I have this problem since around ROI patch. By it got worse after CM.

I have found a workaround though in case anyone has the same problem:

When I play music (with a media player) on the background it never stutters. So I have a random song on repeat with 0% volume in the background media player and stuttering never happens.

I hope developers look into this.

Kudos on figuring this out.
So its a local issue I suppose?
Maybe someone smarter than me has any theories?

If it didn't happen under 2.3 there's no reason why it would under 2.3.2 ... Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

IF that doesn't help, Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . What version # and checksum do you see a/ in the launcher and b/ in the main game menu?

An update on this. Using my workaround improved the situation but didn't always work after all. Some music stuttering was still there.

However switching ck2game.exe to compatibility mode for Windows 7 (I am using Windows 8.1) completely fixed all music stuttering for me.

Posting this in case it helps any players/devs.
