Hello,
It was my second approach to the game within the Bizantine Empire and I still find some absurd / bug which make it unplayable.
So I'm starting as a count, collecting more and more counties. Obviously, I change my succession laws as soon as I can (to seniority, let's say), so all my lands go to one successor.
However, as soon as I become a duke (strategos) - which is a viceroyalty title - my succession laws on the "county level" change automatically to gavelkind and there is no way I can modify them (my primary title is duke and I can't change sucession laws because it is viceroyalty). So now, after my death, not only that I loose duke title (which is obviously fair enough - it goes back to the emperor), but also all my counties get split between my children and I virtually loose everything that I worked for during the entire game.
Is it only my impression, or is it absurd...? I mean - I understand the whole idea of viceroyalty titles, which reflect the centralized authority of emperors, but becoming a viceroy should not mess up the rules of succession in "my own" demesne (my own family lands).
Perhaps it should be still possible to decide on the succession laws on the "lower tier" (i.e. county) after you get the "higher" viceroylaty title (i.e. duchy)...? Or at least these rules should not be automatically resetted after you become viceroy.
I have all DLCs and I don't use any mods.
