Problem 1: Unless a species template has 1 pop assigned to it, it does not show up on Population>Demographics>Growing menu for selected species.

How to Reproduce the problem: After creating some templates for different habitat types (Such as changing Gaia -> something else). Go to any planet and look under the Population>Demographics>Growing menu and see that any zero population template is not visible or able to be selected.

Work Around: Force a population with 0% habitability rating to grow on that planet. Then apply genetic modification to the sole pop. Then select all new pops to be that type.

Solution: Under Species>Set Rights or Create Template, add a option to display in species growth options.

-----

Problem 2: Until a population has zero pops you cannot remove them from the growth choice list.

Solution: See above from Problem 1.

-----

Problem 3: Until a species template has at least 1 pop it cannot be selected through the Colony Ship species selection screen.

Solution: See above from Problem 1.
