As stated above, I don't understand how the 'pop assembly cost' modifier is factored in for machine empires. One of mine has the Luxurious trait for the main machine species (+20% assembly cost), but I don't understand what it does. Machine pops now get assembled automatically, and I don't see any tooltip or notification about any costs associated with that process.

In earlier patches, machine empires needed to build each of their POPs manually, costing 100 minerals each (120 with the above negative trait). Is that cost still present somewhere in the 2.2 patches?

I think it is minerals get turned into 'growth'.
So you would have a constant drain on your minerals which would be higher for luxurious pops.

I may be wrong on this, I have neither played machine intelligences nor assembled robots in one my playthroughs.
