Just to gather more information:
Did you by any chance use the decision to raise tribal armies? There is currently a bug that assigns your ruler as head of the army even if you are underage when using that decision, which would explain why you weren't being tutored in Sjaelland all of a sudden.
If not, would you mind telling me what happened before the battle (if anything of note), and if possible upload a save game?
