I've started a couple of games in England in and after 1066, and I looked immediately after starting, and England was gavelkind. So I look at k_england.txt in history, and this isn't a dev decision - according to k_england.txt, England is still supposed to be elective until 1066, then follow primogeniture after the Norman Conquest. Interestingly, no other title seems to have this problem, and England also seems to stay Agnatic like it's supposed to.

hi all, I am also facing the same issue as Lysistrata (I am also playing the 2.2.1 (DPOO) checksum). I played quite a few games as William the Bastard in the Sep 1066 start. Prior to the 2.2.1 Patch, England would be on the Elective succession law whenever William forces Harold to surrender. I also noticed that when Harold surrenders, he would become a prisoner and his title of Duke of Bedford would be given to William.

However, now in 2.2.1, whenever Harold surrenders, I noticed that he completely disappears and did not become a prisoner. In addition, Harold now starts as a Duke of Essex instead of a Duke of Bedford. Also William only gains King of England as a title, he does not gain Duke of Bedford (or rather now renamed as Duke of Essex?) Is that a Dev's decision or a bug?

Thanks

There is currently an issue with how laws are read from the history files. In which only the first law is applied correctly. It should be fixed in the upcoming patch, though.
