How to reproduce CTD: Most interactions with this levy while that levy is in that specific province. If you combine the levy with other troops, CTD. If you disband this levy, CTD.

Honestly i've been reporting CTD's with how to reproduce them and how to work around them ever since CM came out. Not sure exactly what you guys did that borked it for me, but i've owned this game since 2011 with over 600 hours on it and never had issues. The fact that i've yet to see anyone from paradox say that anything regarding this kinda makes me think that this issue will plague this game for quite some time.

eh, was just going off the join date for this forum since CK2 is the only game i can think of that i own by paradox. Anyway, the game was 100% crash free for 600+ hours. Never crashed till the CM update.

There is nothing wrong with that levy. The savegame works. I can not reproduce a CTD. Is there anything else you are doing that might be the cause?

I loaded the game and merged the troops then disbanded them. There was no issue.

The crash doesn't happen for all systems apparently. I've tested it on 4 different ones and had it work with 1 (that one was windows 8.1 x64, while the crashing systems were all windows 7 x64). While correlation is not always causation, that doesn't mean it isn't worth checking out what is similar between the crashing machines and what is different for the others.

about the save: With the game paused, if i merge that 188 stack with ANYTHING while in that province the game will instantly crash. If i move it out of there i can disband it as normal. If i keep moving it province to province (IE chasing around that rebel stack) the game eventually crashes.

And that immediately says not the savegame but the system or the game installs. Follow the Tech support instructions and uninstall and manually delete all files associated with CK2.

Ahahaha, i've done all of that twice. Still having the same issue.

also, after reading this thread here http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?817696-2.2.1-Game-always-crashes-on-Jan.-19. I found that those units are not showing on my map (IE i zoom the map over to germany). I can disband and merge them as normal. However, when i pull the map back to them the game will still crash. This is even if I let time pass before moving back to them.

Are you sure you're deleting the graphics folder? I'd confirm the checksum, but pretty sure the graphics files don't adjust checksum.

Just freshly reinstalled steam, and CK2. After deleteing everything from the steam/common folder and mydocs/para/ck2. Still having the same issue. Note if i'm not viewing the section of the map those levys are in, i can interact with them as normal w/out crashes. When i move back over to them, instant crash.

Dracko81 generously gifted me the missing unit packs for my game. Now it doesn't crash? It's very odd that something as simple as unit models was causing my game to crash.

Saxon, Norse, Celtic and Warriors of the Faith were the packs gifted. Hopefully PDS will be able to trace the actual culprit here.

@Titan79: As much as I would love to gift everyone CK2 and all the DLC's, it unfortunately is not within the scope of my ability. Although if you poke me when there is a sale on and I am feeling generous...

Nice catch I'll see if I can reproduce it and fix it. Might also just be a dlc package got corrupted(the beta had issues with dlcs) and downloading a new one forced the other to be fixed. But OP said he cleaned out the entire folder. So kind of puzzled.

I've re installed the game updated the Nvidia driver, No salvation. I spent 120 hours in building my Jewish British Empire and i am not going to lose it to some CTD.

Please help.
