It was fixed on 2.2.0.3:
- Revolts no longer count towards vassal limit.

But old bugs have come back to live on version 2.2.0.8 and 2.2.0.9. They for some reason have reverted fixes from beta2 and beta3.

Lets wait for 2.2.0.10 and see if they will bring those fixes back....

Why not PI hire modders for free? They've already hired testers for free.

?

If you meant modders should work on the base game (engine), that uses C++ and Lua and whatnot (I am not sure what is the tech stack for this game) you are crazy. Simple put they dont have the tech skills for that.

I am not sure about $$$ in other parts of the world. But in USA a good programmer should expect at least U$ 60000 /year. A great one over U$ 100000 /year.

If you meant they should hire indie companies to create DLC then thats a possibility. Look at Mount & Blade series. They hired two modding communities that turned into small companies to create expansions and they did pretty well, while the main company was working on the new game.

I've got the same problem. I am playing an ever-growing Roman Empire and there are always multiple counts and dukes revolting against their liege and my vassal count can vary by up to 10; that's with the latest 2.2.0.9 patch. Had that problem with the x.8 patch too. I hope they fix this problem again.

I've been looking into this, but seems to be unable to get this to happen in a new save started in 2.2.0.9. Have any of you seen this in new saves started in the latest beta? Shouldn't really matter though, but just to be sure.

You guys wouldn't happen to have a save I could look at to see if I get the same result as you? Or do you have any situation in which this is guaranteed to happen? I've tried a bunch of different scenarios but been unsuccessful so far as revolt titles doesn't seem to be counted towards the vassal limit.

guaranteed to happen when there is no revolt title, but there is an internal vassal vs sub-vassal war:

1. I'm emperor/king
2. Duke is my vassal, has his own count vassals
3. Duke tries to revoke his count's title
4. count declines

this starts a war where, temporarily, the count is no longer the vassal of the duke. the count does not get a revolt title. the count counts against my vassal limit during their war.

@donnyb83
I checked out your save. I was able to count a total of 30 count-level vassals or above. Minus one revolt put it at 29/33. So it seems to be working as intended.

@grisamentum
I've actually been looking at that scenario as well. However, that has always been the case and has been intentional. Though, it seems that it might be an issue whenever your realm is starting to grow to a decent size. Having a lot of vassals revoking titles/imprison their vassals at the same time, could cause issues when you have about 40 vassals, I guess. I'll take it up with the team and see if we'll do anything with it.

Thanks for getting back to me and providing feedback. Much obliged. :)

Thanks for looking into this, Servancour. It is a bit annoying when the rebelling counts "count" against your vassal limit. IMHO - either they should not count, or they should but the liege should have the option of doing something like telling the rebellious vassal to knock it off, being able to join the war, force the vassal who the rebellion was against to surrender/step down for the good of the realm, etc. The latter would give us some more stuff to do as lieges so I'd prefer that :) but given the complexity it seems like the former would be a quick fix.

Yeah, I was hitting it between 35-40 vassals as Abbasids without even expanding (well, most of your neighbors will accept offers of vassalization on day 1, so I guess I expanded that way.)

I think you really should do something about it because there's no way for the player to intervene in such a war, and it can cause arbitrary loss of some other vassal who would otherwise be fine.
