Playing as Karl Karling, I made a plot to kill against Duke Hunoald of Aquitaine.
When hovering over the "choose a plot"-button I have about 27% initial power, but it also says that my possible plot power is over 55%.
So, I plan to have him killed, but then I can see in my intrigue-tab that no one will back up, or even be persuaded with gifts. So, the plot power remains at 27%...

It might be WAD, but in my eyes it feels like something is wrong with the calculation...

I've noticed this also. The tooltip claims you'll get a plot power higher than you really will.

Maybe it's not modifying it based the target's defensive intrigue?

the plot system is weird. If you check the screen to *add more people* it will display members of the target`s court, theirs plot power and if they will likely join or not.

Then if you click the *automatic invite people* checkmark it will add members of your realm, not just the target`s court.

So you start with 40%... potential 80%. You send your spymaster and you can get another 25% from him.
Then when you click the checkmark you suddenly have 6 extra guys in the list from all around and your plot power is 180%.

You then invite some manually and now you have 200% (the other 20% said no even with gifts).

Yes, in the past I've been able to add members of my court among others (but its not clear how the option even appears).

May be worth tracking down who the unseen extras are (I'm guessing rivals and spouses of lovers could be on the list) and encourage paradox to include them on the display.

Are you sure you've gotten people from your realm to join the plots? I've reported that, at the very least, the invitation list excludes an abundance of people, but we havn't personally seen a case where people from your realm join.

Isnt that WAD?

Start as Karl. Create a plot to kill a count. The intrigue screen will display members of the count`s court you could possible invite.

BUT you can invite people from your realm. Other vassals like counts and dukes. And those the game will add to the plot list if it can. Talk to any vassal and they should have the *invite to plot* button on the diplomacy screen.

Same thing happens with a plot outside your realm. Plot kill someone and then talk to other counts/dukes/king/etc on the guy`s realm. They will most likely say no but the option is there.

TLDR:
- checkbox for autoinvites will look everywhere (?)
- screen to add people only checks target`s court
- plot potential (%) does not takes in consideration outsiders (?)

This has been reported before. Basically a vassal is in 2 courts. His own and yours. When you plot against a land owner you can invite people from his court and his lieges court. In the case of murder plots you will always see his court, in the case of titles(revoke, fabricate) you will see their lieges court.

The potential plot power also includes persons who might be swayed to join your plot.

What? You mean the intrigue screen never shows you all possible plotters, but only a subset?

The potential plot power also includes persons who might be swayed to join your plot.

However I often see that there is no one willing to join, when I look in the intrigue tab (all have the little red icon, that indicates they are not at all interested, and can't be persuaded) - still the potential plot power looks like you can have someone join your plot!

So, either there should be more people added to the intrigue tab, where you ask people to join, if there is some out there hiding in your own or other courts - Or, the potential plot power should be more realistic and show you what you actually can expect!

Yes and that has been around since plots were introduced, it is not new. As I said it is because of multiple courts and it has been reported before. It was never confirmed as a bug or WAD though, but was going to be put forward to be looked at.

The question here is should the other courts be allowed to join the plot? If that is actually WAD, than the button to show possible plotters should also have the additional courts. Otherwise they should not be able to join.

But I have a feeling the plot system is going to get an overhaul very soon, so hopefully this is one of the things which will get fixed in the process.
