[2.2.0.6] Duke-level viceroys remain feudal after rebellion

Another Byzantine head-scratcher: I'm using exarchs extensively and what I'm finding is that duke-level viceroys, or strategos in Greek, are rebelling against their lieges (my immediate king-level vassals), and once that happens and they win the war, they become feudal rather than return as viceroys.

Did some testing and they seem to remain being viceroys for me. It sounds like the dukes are the one who become feudal, is that correct? What type of revolt was it, independence, tyranny etc.? Was it just the dukes against the king? Did the dukes remain as vassals to the king after they won, or did they revert to you?
