As request by others on the forum, who stated that they also agree that this is a bug, I am reporting it here.

So I wanted to play a new game of CK2 and I chose a random character and I wanted to custom the dynasty name and COA. I was able to rename my dynasty name, but the option to customize my COA was completely removed?!?
(By customizing I mean that I could change my shield to that of another religion and customize it - So if I wanted a pagan COA, I could customize it for that, now I can't.)

Yes I am running the most recent beta... and I have the DLC for that

This is currently WAD, as the you are not allowed to change your CoA to a shield that does not belong to your religion. This was made like this as the game makes a check on start up and if your shield was of the wrong religion, gave you a random one instead. However, I am constantly talking with the dev team about this and if you have the customizer dlc, I personaly think that people should be able to change the CoA.

You can't even change it to a shield of your religion. As you can see in the first screenshot, I am pagan and even I can't change it to another pagan COA.

Secondly, this feels like a lazy fix, which renders a core feature of the DLC useless, as it was removed. Why couldn't you guys fix the issue at hand (which was as you stated "that the game makes a check on start up and if your shield was of the wrong religion, gave you a random one instead"), instead of removing the feature? Removing the feature, isn't fixing it.

On top of that, the bug still exists in the Beta where your CoA is randomized everytime you load the game if you ever reform your religion or convert to another religion. I think the check should simply be removed for the human player - it really annoys me to set my house CoA over and over (and at some point the game disallows that too since it sometimes says I'm not the 'top liege' of my dynasty anymore).

I've talked to the dev team about this some more and there should be some news coming out in the not so distant future about this.
