[2.1.5] Relationship loss due to "lost ward" with Muslims

Due to the seemingly random assignment of female wards in the Muslim ward,my son now outright hates my guts,I have no power whatsoever over this since all I get is a notification of a family member or courtier accepting the guardianship of the girls.

just a few minutes later he was again assigned one of them

And as you would guess he lost them both again....this is not a really good father son relationship builder

This bloke eventually had an unfortunate relationship with his Sultan due to being minus 1310 from Ward ping-pong. It's manageable if your target court member has no titles, but ouch, if they do...

(this playthrough went through the beta from an earlier stable version, maybe that's the problem)

Annoying bug indeed. For some reason some wards just don't stick and they keep getting reassigned. Sometimes if set manually they do stick but not always.

I'm seeing this too in a game that started with 2.1.4 and went on to 2.1.6.
Even manually appointing the girl's guardian doesn't work, she just gets reassigned shortly after, and the ping-pong resumes.

In my case one of the people affected is also my grandson, heir and spymaster so...pretty bad
I might just have to dispose of the girl before it gets out of hand, and that is just sad.

So does this bug always happen? If not, what triggers it. Cause right now it looks like an entire religion, spanning a good 1/3 of the map, is unplayable.

I have been playing a muslim character game for most of the beta patches and the released version and I rarely saw this bug. It sometimes happened to one of my kinsman girls but it usually was fixed by me making the kid be tutored by my first wife atleast that stoped those childre to be reassigned again in my games.

I am getting this bug as well, I cannot play as muslims because of it, as it makes my vassals annoyed. This bug is occurring in the latest patch as well.

I've had the same problem, but I found a work around.

Specifically assign the child to a guardian OUTSIDE of your realm. If you are a duke (emir), then NOT to one of your counts, but to someone in another duchy. If you are a king (sultan) then someone in another kingdom. That stopped my daughter bouncing around like a pinball and giving me ridiculous -300+ lost ward minuses from my two count sons (who fought over who got to teach her). I haven't had the same problem with son wards, just daughter wards.

This is a severe bug and it would be best of all if it wasn't a problem at all, but at least this solution helped me get past it so I could stop losing favour and continue my game.

Yep, happening in my game too (2.1.6) - can be both your female children and other female children in your court. Usually the child bounces between two councillers (not fun when its your marshall and heir and your spymaster), but occasionally will be continually reassigned to the same person (which is annoying, although doesn't cost you relations).

As an aside, if you try to manually reassign the child, you will not be able to pick its current guardian (so you can't stop it by confirming the tutor manually)

Makes playing a muslim a frustrating experience.

Couldn't this be solved by not assigning daughters tutors automatically? I mean sure they never inherit but having control over their tutor, be it for stats or an opinion boost, doesn't seem like too much to ask.

When it's not bugging, you can assign the tutor yourself if you really want. If I understand correctly, the bug is just causing the tutors to switch periodically, it's not preventing you to chose them manually (they just don't stick).

but that may be a coincidence,
if i'm right, the game doesn't detect the manual assignment correctly and reassigns an automatic tutor but the manual assignment is still activ
so the girl switches between manual and auto tutor (killing the automatic assigned tutor doesn't help)

Well I never assigned any of the girls,I was pretty happy with how the system decided to take that off my shoulders,so perhaps you were more lucky then the rest of us.

Same as Anastasius. I counted on the automatic tutoring decision to do its thing - I only tried to assign manually when it had switched the same two children about 20 times (complete with annoying notifications, and heavy relations loss with certain people one of whom happened to be my spymaster)

I might have a workaround to this bug. You have to assign the child in question to her mother to be educated. It might need you to try few times but it should stick in the end. This is the only way I have found to be able to stop it and it has worked everytime.

I just wanted to let you know that we are in full swing investigating the issue, and hopefully there should be a fix for this in the near future.
