2.1.4 Loading screen issue

A couple of days ago, I started having this issue (previously, 2.1.4 would load normally):

Apparently I'm not the only one (see this post).

I'm wondering whether this might be an antivirus problem or not? FWIW, I'm using AVG.

Yes, I get that too. As that Launcher will disappear with the next patch, and works OK anyway, I'm not going to do anything about it.

The background image of the launcher isn't located on your machine but is rather obtained from Paradox's servers when you launch the game. When your internet is unusually slow (or there's something on Paradox's end), it may take a while to show up or not show up at all. It doesn't matter though; it affects nothing.

If you try the beta patch for CK2, you'll see that there's a whole new launcher coming next update.
