2.04 Bug, probably affects 2.1.0 and beyond as well

There were numerous CTD's both with the 2.1.0 patch as well as the 2.0.4 patch when attempting to start up CK2 through Steam. However when I started the game directly from the C:\ directory using ck2game application, the CTD problems went away. Probably because it bypasses the Steam launcher itself entirely.

This strongly suggests CTD start up problems are tied to the Steam launcher itself. For now, I will not be starting CK2 from Steam's platform anymore due to problems associated with it which may also be related to the Steam Workshop problems it's been experiencing.

There are some issue with the Steam Workshop that we are working on getting fixed. Do you always get CTD when starting through Steam? Have you tried starting the game trough Steam without any mods active? Making sure that they are not checked in the launcher.
