just saw in my game another issue with supplies.
I rebased 3 cas from Wilhelmshafen to Kiel. thats's within the borders of the Reich (153 km). and now my planes are out of fuel even after waiting a few days.
tell me what you want. the game still is not working properly and I stay at my conclusion that PI has lost control over the whole thing.
The Soviets very nearly were overrun, IIRC.
Game mechanics prevent the Soviets from making the kind of comeback they had in OTL where they lost practically all their western starting divisions in the first 4 months but raised as many new units in the same time.
Yes its a fault of the system. You don't have fuel in every province, that's not a fault of the system. Your planes will need to wait for the fuel to arrive.
What if the Sovoiets don't spend any IC on reinforcements, use the starting troops to hold the line as long as possible and during that, build new divisions? If the front lasts for a few months, it is feasible. It usually doesn't last that long. (My point is, that the game mechanics don't make it impossible, but the actual parameters do.)

What airbase IRL would not have a single drop off fuel available if the overall fuel situation in the nation was decent or good?

Fuel for military use is in reality stored at air and naval bases. Not in a magical huge oiltank at the capital.![]()
