started yesterday after installing a new version then upgraded to 1.4
Started as germany in 36
Still going slow after a year. (restart it and it goes better for another year)
SCW did fire but national spain got his butt kicked in 3 months.
Then Japan , italy, portugal and hungary joins me in 38
By then the swedes, belgium, finland, norway, ireland, luxemburg, danmark, greece already joined the allies.
So it's now aug 39. So if i dow Poland in a month at least the hole of europe will attack me. Should be interesting but only for one time. Hope this is not usual.

France sent most its military to Vietnam to fight off Japan..... Germany's events went as normal (good!), the bad part though..is france had NOBODY guarding the magnot line when Germany DOWed on poland....as i said...France and Britian have pretty much shiped most their armies to Vietnam and India..... lol...So basically Germany is gonna walk to Paris probably before they even take Warsaw.

Well, that sounds a bit historical. When the Germans invaded France they did recall alot of those far off troops though.

Also the slow buildup in 1936 might be historical. At that point Germany is only beginning to become a threat. Not everyone realised how they had to reorganize their country's production means to cope with the german threat. Well, too late they realized. At least the British. Dont know about france though, but they should at least have their magniot line manned at wartime!

I had a very hard time as Japan, trying to invade Singapore and the English Islands in Indonesia.
UK sent ALL its ships and ALL its RAF to defend Singapore and Borneo. Even if my Ships and Naval Doctrines are top notch, i just can not do anything against so many ships, dozens of interceptors, TAC and NAVs.

I had to be sneaky, not invade ports directly but supplying my marines from air and moving across the land, province by province. My air techs didnt allow me to Bomb the airfields from my own. Once a port was taken, i had to move my fleets so I dont fight everything in one sea province.

I had fights against up to 54 RN in one fleet... their attack and defend bonus was down to 10-15%. But their Air Force just pwnd me like a newb :p

A bit weird but interesting experience :D

Meanwhile, Germany is in full Barbarossa on its east front, and getting crushed by Canadians forces on its west front

Started a game with Romania , 36 .

I get a serious problem : once the dissent goes up for a day i cannot get it down .
I can alloc all my IC to consumer goods and this increases even more the disesent .

The tooltip says that dissent should modify by -0.11 but in fact it raises by 0.11 .

Hi, for me it sounds good at the first moment, because it is more important to upgrade, than to build new units. It is a cheaper way to get more powerful units.

sounds plausible. but why is US then building level 1934 carriers in that numbers. one would be OK for gaining practical. but 5 ???

From the RC11 beta, it was noted that England has trouble producing much because it has really low manpower in the pre-war years. Once the neutrality lowers enough and the laws change, you start to see some action when manpower goes above 500.

I have found the US to be more involved. Not to the extent that they should, but still involved.

France in my game was a monster, nothing what you are reporting above. They were the first to produce MArmd divs, and they had a massively strong army by '39. It took a year to cave them in (playing as Italy).

I checked that. US had even less MP (about 175) than ENG (about 330). So that's not plausible.

Game is now improoved,no doubt.

But I see people are noticing same problem:
How to accept this beutifull ww2 game with situation of for instance one small Switzerland joining allies infront the nose of its mighty neigbour- my Germany ,with 200+ army that is just across its border, actualy my hall army group facing France is there in and arround Swartzvald and only I need is to order them to move fiew kilometers to the south to obliterate suicidal Switzerland.

How is that developers cant understand what bothers us from the start, this geoplithical madness in the game....can someone explain to me please?
Where am I wrong?
How can I enjoy such game developement, how to enjoy when this kills ww2 feeling.

it still cant add and subtract supply change right.

this is on days mouse over.

Changes by 115.33 every day.
+234.18 produced
+23.00 traded for.
-2.77 traded away.
-220.32 into network
-80.73 used
+161.97 returned

if you add this up. you get 257.18 new
- the 2.77 traded away you get 254.41
- 220.32 to network you get 34.09
+161.97 returned you get 196.06 not 115.33 the only way this works is if i pay for used again. should not the used have come out of the network, and not out of the network returned.

i was trying to get why it has 11.67 need for supplys and i have 27.88 and and not stockpiling as much or more than i use.

Historical scenarios are still in a sorry state because there seems to be no way to modify the starting strength of units :(

With fully manned divisions in Normandy, Germany was able to wipe out Normandy beachhead by 30th of June. This is a step backwards from previous game of the series and I hope Paradox will eventually bring back the way to alter the strength of units in OOBs.

The only thing that was concerning me was the huge lag. It's somewhat better now , I can play until 1939. It's somewhat good now , i've spent about 10 hours yesterday and today. The interface lag isn't corrected completely yet , that's my only complain.

Kreppert, you are assuming there, it could be, that
'into network' instead actually tracks amount of supply in the network, and is indeed the change of amount of supply in network after you take away the used and returned, oh, well, that was crappy explanation, but.

Since you are so interested, I suggest you pick some small county, like maybe cuba, or something even smaller (that still has atleast 2 or 3 provinces). So that you can track amount of supply in each province daily, and see what those numbers in mouseover actually present.

US seems to be doing ok

My 1st impressions are based on a Canada test game. I decided just play the Barbarossa scenario and try a Canadian invasion of Norway. About 2 months in, my troops are slogging down the Norwegian coast and I glance down to Germany...to see that the US has taken all of the German territory from the front line in the East to Paris. Holland, and Belgium and Poland are soon liberated...odd...

In my game, 1936 GC as Germany, I tried to stick to historical dates, decisions and research:

- SCW fired in '37, Nationalists won before the year was out.
- Poland went GiE about 3 weeks after I invaded.
- Netherlands had already joined the Allies so I had to fight them at the same time. Belgium was still neutral.
- France made a few attacks then realized they were overmatched.
- I invaded Denmark with a combined air/marine assualt on Copenhagen and an army up the peninsula. They surrendered so I annexed them.
- DoW'd Belgium and Lux. in May to start the campaign against France. UK had a good sized force in France. The Maginot line held up a good bit of my forces before I was able to surround them. The fight lasted till October before Vichy fired, no crash.
- Now in Jan. '41 the US is still neutral, several minors have joined the Allies. Everyone is influencing Japan, the Allies have a 1 point advantage. I could have invited Japan in '38 but waited ... too long it appears. I have Hungary and Italy.

I noticed that it takes a couple of days before consumer goods have any effect on the increase in dissent. If you can survive the first 2-3 days, it SHOULD start to drop again. For a few countries that are right on the edge of economic collapse right from the start, you can't even cut back your supply production to 0 to increase consumer goods enough to undo the slide into anarchy, since the unrest reduces your overall production points.

[Self-Correction - you have to CLOSE the Production screen for the changes to take effect. If you sit and watch it, the dissent will NEVER go down.]

As for the SCW not firing, I had it delay all the way to late '38 in one game; another game fired almost immediately in Feb. '36. The Republicans absolutely crushed the Nationalists in around three weeks in one game, the Nationalists managed to eke out a victory in a knock-down, drag-out fight that lasted over a year in another game (and each faction even took the other's capital, with both sides having to contend with 3rd party rebels that spawned in several places). The outcome all seems to depend on what units randomly go to which side, and whether one or the other manages to take control of a few valuable "contested" spots during the first few days.
