1948 Scenario Arab-Israeli War

Hello Guys,

I've played DD Demo and looked at several threads and web-reviews. I've ordered the game, but while I'm waiting for its delivery am I right that our Great friends of Paradox didn't included the promised 1948 scenario?

If so any chance to get it in a patch?

To be honest this scenario was one of the reason I was so much looking for DD relase.

Well I made one for the origanal HoI2, but it needed the No Time Limit Patch. Now that the game goes until 1953 you can use it without that problem. Once I get Doomsday I'll edit it to work for the new game and rerelease it. Unless of course, Paradox releases their own.....

Still I'm 100% sure the Paradox guys clearly mentioned this scenario for DD. I still hope they haven't forgot their promise

I think there are events for this, but they can only happen if UK is not at war, so you have to play 1944 scenario.

there are already user-made scenarios for those conflicts...which are very good, btw

Ya I made one of those too. It's in the mod in my sig. Once I get Doomsday myself I'll make sure to rework all pre-1954 scenarios to work for Doomsday (that way there will be no need to mod anything). I think the list I had included:

-The Korean War
-1948 Arab-Israeli War
-First Indo-Pakistani War 1947

Well i did the 1945 (doomsday scenario) and the Uk setup Israel, then Egypt, Egypt declared war on Israel, then Syria declared war on Israel. So yeah the scenario is there, but its event scripted in the 1945 scenario...

Really? That's interesting to know and I look forward to seeing that in a grand campaign. Do you know if they actually got any units when they were created because it would seem sort of foolish if they didn't. Then it would just be who ever gets the first division built becomes the victor...

Well i didnt have any spies so im not sure if they had any units, althougoh Israel did annex syria quickly, and claimed all egyptian territory on the east side of Suez, but they did not cross into egypt, no boats i guess.

so they must of had some units, no air or naval though...

I might be stuborn, but if Paradox did created all the events for this scenario and I understand the relevant units, leaders, etc......... why just not add the scenario itself from the start menu, instead of going trought the hassle to play UK, etc.
it's like scratching yr left ear with your right hand :rofl:

The events are really simple, a scenario is more complex and absolute. As the UK releases its puppets in the middle east, then the arab-israeli war kicks off.

If it was a scenario, then they would have to set the OOB, more indepth events and readjust IC etc...

Does Israel actually form in the Doomsday scenario once you get to 1948?

I'm assuming not since there are no new events.
We badly need some event packs.
