when i play the main campaign....does the game ahve to end in 46...or is there a way to let the game continue on alot longer?

Theoretically, you can always mod the time.

someone will surelly make a "user made patch" to extent that period of time... just like in EU

1948. It is possible to play further.
The plate only hinders, which one speaks, that the game was finished.
But it can be shifted.
