Playing as Ger, first in in the 1939 scenario, I was shocked when the window popped up to turn over half of conquered poland to the Sovs. Any way to circumvent that?

When you agree to the pact, annexing automatically gives the land in eastern Poland under your control over.

However, iirc, land under your allies control stays in there hands after the event triggers, So you could conquer Eastern Poland through Hungary, and then they would get to keep it.

If you don't mind being gamey, just overrun Poland and never annex it. You'll have most of the IC that you'll ever get from it, you'll still be in possession of everything up to the Soviet border, but since Poland still exists, the handover event will never be triggered. From this new forward position, you can more easily encircle the Baltic States and even the W Ukraine, as well as largely by-passing the Pripets. You can always wait to annex until after you've begun your drive into the USSR. Be careful, though, as the USSR can still move through this territory to get to you.

BTW, you were "shocked" at this discovery? Someone needs to brush up on the history of the war, or at least pay more attention to the pop-up windows. :p

Either Don't agree or don't annex.

BTW In my game its early '39 I just pulled a coup and got Poland to Join the Axis. What's going to happen? Am I still going to have the Danzig or War? The Moltov-Ribb pact? Now I guess War with Russia is a must?

Should I hit The Allies 1st?

Russia has 180 Div I have 100 Poland has 60+

What's the best Plan?

If Germany and Poland are allied, neither the "Danzig or War" nor the Molotov-Ribbentrop events will fire. The SU will declare war on you sooner or later (unless you do it first, obviously), but you should have enough time to eviscerate France and Britain first.

Just remember: if you want any conquered Soviet territories to come under your control, instead of under your equinophilic* ally's, you'll need to force your way through Lithuania and Latvia first. Not that that should be at all difficult.
