looks like we're getting all set!
now we could save the team/country discussion for sat, but if we do not all have the same instant messenger, we might have to do it in the valkyrienet chat, and that might be a problem.. 6-7 ppl talking in one chat goes pretty fast sometimes.
so the following countries might be interesting
GERMANY, ITALY, JAPAN, hungrary, romania
UK, SOVIET, FRANCE (vichy has to be accepted, switch to play USA), canada, australia, nationalist china (could be very interesting with a human controlled war in china. if defeated by japan we could make a switch to some allied minor)
NEUTRAL, interesting minors - spain - is not too weak, controls gibraltar. inclined perhaps to joining the axis if france is defeated, but could wait for a D-Day when germany is occupied.
vichy france - same strategical position, difficult to join allies at first. decent fleet that could topple the naval balance.
if you are a player who doubt you will be able to play all the sessions, a minor might be a good choice, then leaving control to an ally when you cannot play. I would also appriciate someone playing the neutral minors from a neutral perspective (i.e. the side who offers the best deal, and/or is ideologically pleasing, could be joined. this could enlarge the war-theater a lot)
one more thing on the teams issue. we're after an even, interesting game. it is therefore in all our best interest to get good teams. might be difficult now since we don't know each other. but if you post (here or on some messenger service) a desire to play a certain country, please add how long you have played, and if you have previous multiplayer experience. (none of these things say all about you as a player, you could be good with little exp, or a bad player despite playing multiplayer for a long time, but it might give an idea)
i could play any major, except for perhaps japan... (i believe he will often end up fighting mostly AI, especially if britain is very occupied by europe), but i'm most interested in GERMANY and SOVIET UNION. but like i stated in earlier discussions, i can back down on this since my most important concern is an even game. i have a long playing experience (if counting hoi1 then 5-6 years or so) but little multiplayer experince. (so i would consider myself a medium player)
