Suggestions for the navies...

I am going to start doing a comparison on navies and ships for many minor nations - on the line of the naval OoB suggestions I have made before.

I was thinking like this:

Destroyer type 0 = old torpedo boats, old destroyers (ww1 vintage)

Destroyer type 1 = modern destroyers

Destroyer type 2 = destroyer leaders

Cruiser type 0 = old light cruiser

Cruiser type 1 = modern light cruiser, old heavy cruiser, old coastal defence ships, monitors

Cruiser type 2 = modern heavy cruiser, small modern coastal defence ships

Pre-dreadnough battleship = old coastal defence ships, pre-dreadnought battleships

Will look more into the various battleship types and make suggestions. Few minor nations had any real I might suggest more AA, NA or GD or lowered of the same for some ships

Many of the minor nations navies are a bit under-powered. I will also make tech addition suggestions, as some nations had extensive warf and shipbuildign capactiy (Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain, for example).

I'll also try to make a list for the different levels of cruisers classes for the different minor nations. :)

Completely forgot, Nikolai, thanks. I've edited them into the Finland list.

The idea is that submarine type 0 = ww1 submarines or small, small submarines like the German Type I. Type 1 = medium submarines with 4 or more total 53cm tubes. :)

As for HMS Wasa and HMS Dristigheten, Guderian, HMS Dristigheten was altered to a sea plane tender in the 20s and HMS Wasa had no functioning engines and was towed around used as a gun excersice platform and a floating semi-mobile coastal artillery battery.

I suppose we should think of some certain "average Speed", main armament and armor rate for each ship Class.

It will be easier to decide on more or less speed for a cruiser type X, if we can actually compare his 28 knots to the presumed 33 average speed.

Some ships were "prototyp" like, less armor more speed. Maybe we could take care of this that way.

Take a look at Exel's models.csv before deciding on changing stuff in French ship classes. His models.csv will be used in next patch as it was selected by the crowd.

Re: Spain

Also, the Nationalists recieved 4 old destroyers from Italy (Ceuta, Melilla, Huesca and Teruel) so if Italy chooses to support the rebels, I think that the Nationalists should get a destroyer type 0 and a submarine type 0 (at 50 strength) since they got 2 submarines (General Mola and General Sanjurjo) from the Italians as well. :)

I disagree on those U-Boots from Brin Class. Ex - Archimedes & Ex- Toricelli where build after January 1936, therefore they cannot be handed over to Spain UNLESS Italian player actually does order those to be build. :)

Depends... 4 to 7 I'd say... It doesn't matter much and it adds flavour. I'd say 4 destroyers/subs warrants a squadron for a small nation, 6 or 7 for a major player.

Okay!

I propose to take 5. That way I can easily calculate the Escorts.

1 Squadron (5 actual ships) give 10 Escorts.
Easier to fit in all other Escorttype in ratio.
(Torpedo Boats, Gun Boats, Sub Hunters, Auxilary Cruisers)

Just change the Swedish Stridsvagn to Strv, which was (and is) the official short. Using stridsvagn is like using Panzerkampfwagen - everybody uses Pz or Strv anyway.

I also hava changed and added a bit within the Swedish airplanes (added strategic bombers and naval bombers and added and moved some tactical and dive bombers). They are now a bit more varied, more realistic and more in line with the 1936 OoBs I suggested. :)

I have not changed anything in tanks, the only thing I got there is that the Czech 40mm+ tanks should be 47mm, like the 30mm is 37mm. :)

Will go wild on the ships then. :D
