Yesterday I made a copy of the 1936 scenario, renamed it "1935" and changed the start year to 1935. The reason was that I wanted to give the human player (me) a head start in research and production of "expensive" stuff as a minor nation. I thought that the AI would not research anything in advance. I was wrong. A few times during the game I loaded up as a major nation (Germany) and saw that the AI researched and produced about the same stuff as usual, however one year or more in advance.
I also noted that trading was different. In the 1936 scenario I have learned what resources to trade with specific nations to get good deals but this did not apply at all in my 1935 scenario. Also hard coded embargos was not active (like Norways embargo against Sweden and Soviet). I then thought that this would change when I reached january 1 1936 but it did not.
Why is this?
