Tough Italy leaves the CP alliance automatically, it can rejoin immediately. If Italy chooses to join the CP, the Entente faces a serious problem as the AI of both Britain and France fail to send sufficient naval forces to fight the Italian (and AH and Ottoman) fleets. Historically, the French would have to concentrate their forces in the Med while the British took care about the North Sea and the Atlantic.
Likewise, there are a lot of unprotected transports floating around in the med in these circumstances. Although unprotected, I can never even severely damage them and the buggers keep try to land forces. Not that I would complain about free exp for my troops, but it's a bit annoying...
