So, with a two or even may as well be a three front war, colonial battles and an army and navy all over the place, I get quickly overwhelmed by the speed of events in 1914.

Can you people give tips to another player of this game? I want to see what happens if I steamroll France.

I tried to rush land doctrines and set up a static defense along the East front, so once France was out of the picture, I can head East and finish things up.

So, strategies and tips?

Mod the game chance the starting time so you can arrange your troops and have a better war and its not cheating cause AI arranges them in a week so when battle starts you have your divisions walking in Germany and France has most of their divisions attacking you...

Your best bet will be to wait till someone covers Germany in an AAR. It will no doubt be a popular choice.

That should cover the most appropriate strategies with how to succeed as Germany. Better yet, start one yourself and invite suggestions. Would personally be interested to see how that would go, as am too intimidated myself to try a major power. Sticking with the minors for the moment to try and get my head around how this game works...

The movement speeds are enough to move troops from the French border to Russian border. Should be enough.

I'd be more than happy to post my eventual results of success in a 1914 campaign as Germany. Just as soon as I can actually get one started where the events for war with France actually fire.. At least six campaign reload attempts and nothing.. I must be doing something incorrectly.

Don't ally with A-H before declaring war on Russia by event.

There it is. :)

Personally, I have no problem defending from France and pushing Russia at the same time. Also, I don't really care about my african provinces, for what they are worth ;)

Your western front against France is easy enough to defend, with lots of land fortications, just be sure not to choose to attack Beligum/Netherlands in the decision wich you choose wich enemy to declare war upon :)

As for the Russians, They do not give much trouble IF A-H fights well. If they don't, assume Military control for the time being and push back Russia. There is also the possibility to have the Ottomans/Bulgaria by your side during the war. :)

Central powers in general seem weak unless under player control, Entente AI is landing troops everywhere I've seen Portugal landing on undefended German coastline and grabbing several province from sleeping German AI, UK ships its divisions to France while Japan ships its divisions to middle East to liberate Kuwait and defend Suez (BTW taking Suez as Ottoman has little purpose and you get only almost indestructible Partisans both in Egypt and Caucasus, as Ottoman there is little point in advancing, although once I saw OE annexing Iran and after peace they got to keep it!).

Also instead of attritional battles I'm seeing numerous encirclements, AI tends to break the front and keeps advancing with large stacks leaving empty or poorly defended provinces behind it, once cut off they get easily destroyed.

Agh, thought I won. Until I looked in the French events file and realized I was one month too late. Oh well! It was intense.. Didn't help that Paris held out for around 45 days in battle. better luck next time..

Quick note: if the Ottoman take Suez, UK won't be able to send help to the Arabs. ;)

I still get Partisans in Sinai and they are tough!

Agh, thought I won. Until I looked in the French events file and realized I was one month too late. Oh well! It was intense.. Didn't help that Paris held out for around 45 days in battle. better luck next time..

As A-H I've made offensive all the way to Rome and then suddenly peace, Germany got all Italian colonies while I got only two lousy provinces. Shouldn't I get at lest some kind of war reparations? Also Italy keeps sending spies after defeat...

Bulgaria just quits after Germany surrenders leaving me as A-H all alone with massive Russian front and crazy UK wanting to land on Adriatic coast. BTW beaches are all wrong, landings below Velebit mountain sounds silly even British during WW2 considered Istrian peninsula best choice.

Do to lack of cash my research is behind plus I barely managed to build few divisions despite having something like 6000 manpower!

BTW did anyone notice that naval combat is deadly in one clash with Italian navy both navies literally lost all ships with only few subs surviving, crippled ships should be able to detach from the fleet and retreat to the port. AI especially Italian should definitely be more interested in keeping its ships floating since they are impossible to replace.

1) In DH rebels are always strong, beware! :D
2) Even if you haven't taken Paris by November 1914, you can still trigger the next surrender event by taking enough of the other VPs of Metropolitan France.
3) Espionage requires a lot of money, maybe that's the problem
4) Yes, Bulgars are cowards. :D

Regarding the map, open a thread in the Bug Reports or Suggestion sections regarding those beaches.
