Some people will always complaint, and would complain about this not being representativeWhat's there to clarify? We all know the army count stands for how many regiment there are. Also, the uppercase K earlier did look jarring compared to the current lowercase k.
It only shows the decimal if the unit isn't full strength. The 'K' (and 'M' if you ever manage to get a million troops) is for visual clarity and to more easily distinguish fleets and armies. Judging from our experience with testers and betas, after a very short period of 'this looks cluttered' people quickly got used to and liked the change, so we'll look into adding options for it if anyone actually still cares a while after release.
For example, square/rectangular framed flag shield icon in front of the unit count. There are, I think, more elegant ways to distinguish between fleets and armies. For example, you could have a different font/background color for fleet sizes. I'm with the group that doesn't like the 'k', it clutters up the screen and doesn't give me any useful information.

It's more tiresome to tell the difference between numbers and letters, than to tell the difference between numbers and a shield. How is that less clutter than the k?
Let the silent majority speak!
That was great. Almost woke up my girlfriend I was laughing so hard, and she's in another room."A: - One kiloman of prussian infantry please.
B: - Sure.
A: - Oh wait, the new orders are just in. Make that a megaman.
A: - Uhm..."
1k infantryman = 1.000 infantryman (or men would be more appropriate)... But like the joke with megaman :-D but this only make my point of it´s correct use more valid, since some see it as "a man" and if not having the k would mean having 0.2 of man... now how does that goes? and he regenates!?"A: - One kiloman of prussian infantry please.
