UPDATE: Looks like Austria gained some territory, Serbia and Bulgaria are connected...not much else in Europe. Americas didn't change.

If we are going to pick another date, it ought to be the start of a major conflict (Spanish-American War) or something of great importance, like that. We have so little time to work with, I would suggest beginning in January.

Well, 1881 has a couple of errors regarding the South American setup, which should be corrected in any 1898 scenario that is made with 1881 as its base, for example...check this post for more info.
